Nickelle is a rescue cat. She was a breeder cat as she is an “American Curl”. Notice the tips of her ears curl back very slightly. For those not familiar with the breed, pretty much the only stipulation is the curled ears. Color can be anything, but most I have seen tend to have the white face.
She had a non-curled black and white female kitten, and since she is very shy, neither cat was adopted for many months from the rescue. I like quieter cats, and am fairly patient, so I took them both.
Nicky is a great “mom” cat to my other young cats, including her biological daughter Alix. When any of them get scared of stuff (like the vacuum) or just want to sleep with a warm body, she is very willing to help. She is very quiet, but after 2 years now she is coming out to hang out watching TV and even playing with the feathers and especially string. I really appreciate her steady personality and very caring manner toward the younger cats, and that she every once in a while plays and has fun just to enjoy herself.
