This is Beavis, a very handsome little Siamese who is 13 years old. He is the best buddy, mentor and kitty roommate of Sunday’s cat of the day, Sirius Black. Though he is old and set in his ways, he welcomed Sirius two years ago. He loves having another cat to groom and curl up with, even if he finds Sirius a bit too rambunctious. He is devoted to my husband and to one of our children and he mostly just tolerates me and our other child. He is an indoor cat but manages to sneak out just about daily. Neighbors have reported finding him sunning himself on their deck furniture. He’s never gone too long though, pampered pet that he is.
He doesn’t abide being picked up but he will demand that we scratch his back by coming up to us, arching his back and meowing as only a Siamese can! We are not allowed to touch his paws, tail or tummy under any circumstances.
Beavis joined our family shortly after my husband I got married. I brought two lovely black DSHs into the relationship but he’d always had Siamese cats growing up so we became a three cat family. (Black cats Fury and Buckwheat are both long gone, each having lived to a ripe old age. We still miss them.)
And about that name . . . what can I say? My husband was 25 when we got him and of the MTV generation!
