Biggie Smalls
I adopted a very kind human in April 2008. I’ll be 5 years old in 2010.
Even though I don’t much like being carried around, I’m super friendly. I love chatting with humans or with myself, taking over my female human’s pillows (although there is one apparently special one she diligently manages to keep away from me), and bolting around the house for no particular reason.
I dislike “Human food”, strong odors like nail polish, and the ringing doorbell which makes me hide under the bed.
I must say my cutest habit is I speak with many different meows and squeaks. I answer my own questions. Sometimes I talk to the lovebird when it’s chirping. I also make a lot of facial expressions and wag my tail like a dog.
I’m naughty when I’m caught chasing this other cat that lives here. She’s so snooty! My motto is: Who says laziness is a bad thing?

Nickelle
Nickelle is a rescue cat. She was a breeder cat as she is an “American Curl”. Notice the tips of her ears curl back very slightly. For those not familiar with the breed, pretty much the only stipulation is the curled ears. Color can be anything, but most I have seen tend to have the white face.
She had a non-curled black and white female kitten, and since she is very shy, neither cat was adopted for many months from the rescue. I like quieter cats, and am fairly patient, so I took them both.
Nicky is a great “mom” cat to my other young cats, including her biological daughter Alix. When any of them get scared of stuff (like the vacuum) or just want to sleep with a warm body, she is very willing to help. She is very quiet, but after 2 years now she is coming out to hang out watching TV and even playing with the feathers and especially string.
I really appreciate her steady personality and very caring manner toward the younger cats, and that she every once in a while plays and has fun just to enjoy herself.

Dov
This is Dov, whose full name is Dovid Melech Vincenzo Archer. He and his littermates were tiny orphaned strays; we adopted Dov and our friends adopted his brother and sister (and named them after me and my husband!).
This picture is of Dov on our screened porch – he loves to sit out there in nice weather and watch all the birds, chipmunks, and squirrels outside.
Dov is the most loyal cat we have ever met – he follows us everywhere we go in the house and gives us a bath every morning when we wake up (which is pretty painful because of his rough tongue). I feel bad when I am just running upstairs for a minute because Dov faithfully follows me every time.
Dov’s adopted sister is named Siena; she is just a few months older than Dov and she is also orange and white; I will send a picture of her next time.
My husband says Dov is a spoiled momma’s boy and when I am rocking him and his eyes get all squinty, my husband tells him “Dov! You are supposed to be a predator!” but Dov just snuggles and ignores him.

Newman & Cleo
Meet Newman (Siamese) and Cleo (black cat). They are both rescue cats-Newman from the streets, Cleo from our local animal shelter.
At the time this picture was taken, Newman was about 14 years old, and his health was declining rapidly. Cleo never left his side-she was very worried.
Newman was very loving, yet very much like a grouchy old man. And Cleo was always his trusty sidekick. We sadly had to put Newman down earlier this year-it was heartbreaking. We felt good knowing that the last 6 years of his life, we made Newman a very happy kitty.
For the happiness Newman and Cleo brought us,and the loyalty they showed to each other, I think they both deserve to be kitty of the day!

Penelope (Penny)
This is my beautiful Ragdoll kitty, Penny. I’ve had her all of one week.
I got her from a breeder who could no longer keep her or her house-mate, so she was looking for people to take them in. I had lost a cat 4 years ago, and I wasn’t quite sure if I was ready or not, but when this precious gift presented itself I just knew I had to give these beautiful cats a home.
Penny’s house-mate Gracey just came home last night and is having a bit of a tough time with the adjustment, but we love having her here. And I hope to submit her picture one day for the Daily Cat, too.

Thank you to everyone who participated!
Biggie Smalls clearly has quite a personality! It's crazy how white cats can have such interesting (goofy!) color patterns. Whose tail is that?! Very very cute one.
Thanks, Jill!
Biggie (aka "Clumpy", "Squeaky", "Goof" and "Galoot") was thrilled to hear that he won the contest. He rolled over onto his back and chirped. He is a real joy to have around. We just love him to pieces! <3
