Cheese

Cheese

When we decided we needed a kitten, we went to the local shelter. While there, we overheard one of the workers telling someone how they never had so much trouble selling a particular kitten. It seems he was very quiet and did not play with the other kittens, so people did not want him.

Well my husband saw him and it was love at first sight. So we got Cheese. He’s 2 now and quite honestly he is the light of my life. He’s quite uncoordinated (which makes for a LOT of laughs), but he is a lover and a sweetheart who will come to you when you cry, and drag his toys to you when he wants to play.

He loves snuggling with you in bed, and will gently tap your arm if you stop petting him. Strangely, the only “people” foods he will eat are pretzels and crackers!! We could not have picked a better cat to own us. We love our Cheese!

Ms. Wilson

Ms. Wilson

When I moved back to PA from Oregon 7 years ago, I adopted a preganant kitty, Mo Mo, who is Ms. Wilson’s mother. Ms. Wilson is the only kitten who survived. She is the most loveable kitty who adores attention, she likes to sit on my chest and be pet. She also insists on sleeping between our heads in the bed. Better make sure she has her space between the pillows! Otherwise she will stand on you and yowl, or sleep on top of you.

She also loves to go outside and is a little hunter bringing us presents all the time. She is one of 5 cats my husband and I have. I had 2, he had 2, and well, another one entered the picture later on. The heart on her side is so her. She is full of love and will go up to strangers in the neighborhood asking them to pet her. Super love kitty – Ms. Wilson. She’s my heart.

This is actually an exremely rare photo, only one of my lovely felines is missing. All of my 5 cats were adopted from the SPCA and they are all very special with amazing personalities. They are all like my children and a scene like this never ceases to put a smile on my face.

I had to euthanize Ginger last week. She ended up with lymphoma. She was a beautiful Somali female, around 10 years old.

I'm glad you enjoy our community! Do you have any kitties yourself?

    John,

I posted a reponse to your reply on the day my Jaspurr was Daily Cat, but I think you missed it. So I'm copying it here…

The only suggestion I have it maybe a section of links that will show people where in their area is a no-kill cat rescue where they can find cats to love. If I ever move to a new state, I'd love to know where the nearest reputable cat rescue is so I can support them, maybe volunteer, and find a new cat if I'm looking for one.

If you broke it down on two lists, by state for those that want to find one near them, and another by name so you can quickly find one you've heard of. Maybe link to their website, especially the ones that have blogs. If you haven't had time to go back and read some the postings on the Nine Lives blogsite, you might enjoy it. Sometimes happy, sometimes sad, sometimes moving… it never disappoints.

But there are many many great rescues that need support by donations, volunteering, and adoption. It would be lovely to see EverCats give them a voice. And maybe a comment section so people can post about their positive experiences with the specific shelter, even post a photo of the cats they adopted there.

I don't know if this is something you can do… but I thought I'd throw it out there!

    Cheese is stunning….

Ginger…Jill, so sorry for your loss. I can sympathize…I lost my Magic Cat to cancer a few years back. It's just amazing how they take over your heart…and make it soar.
