Poppy
Sisters Poppy & Sparkles came from a rescue home, they were very young (with their brother who was homed elsewhere). Poppy was extremely head shy & would not let you get near her. When we got them home (to meet our other rescue who we brought home a week earlier from the same centre) everyone got along great.
My partner accidently lifted a magazine a bit high, and kittens scattered everywhere! We deduced they came from a place where someone maybe hit them with a paper or magazine. After much time, Poppy started to have ‘Soppy Poppy’ sessions where after spending all day entertained by our pond, she’d feel happy & affectionate and actually let you have a little stroke, not too much though, and just enough to make you feel priviledged.
You have to make sure your hand still doesn’t go right over her head though, even now! She goes all huge eyed & scared looking. Today she lets us brush her, & rubs up at tea time. She loves to spend 100% most awake time by the pond & quite often , is IN it, in the shallows watching the fish. She’s a peculiarly odd, very sweet & utterly beautiful little kitty with a silken coat & gorgeous eyes. We love her very much. She feels safe here.

Runner-Ups

Eddie Mittens
I spotted Eddie on a cold NY winter day about a mile from my home. Eventually he found his way to my house. I gave him some food and he never left. Eddie made himself cozy on my bed and has had the same spot on my bed since day 1.
He came to me neutered and declawed and about 6 months old, according to the vet. He is now about 8-9 years old and loves the outdoors. Eddie lounges on the deck on sunny days and despite being declawed by his previous owner he is an avid hunter.
- Chrissy from USA NY

Henry aka Mystic Mog
The picture says it all really! He is a mad cat! =^..^=
- Suzanne from Glasgow Uk

Cocoa
This is one of my cat’s named Cocoa. Cocoa was my sister’s christmas present of 2007 and she was so ecstatic to see this little kitty! Cocoa is a very loving cat who loves to play and lay in the sun. When Cocoa was a kitten she loved to drink out of baby bottles and lay in baskets. Cocoa is our litle cross eyed kitty and we love her <3

Thank you to everyone who participated!
Poppy is very happy to be here! Poor Eddie Mittens is so lucky to have found Chrissy, so weird that he actually made his way to Chrissy's house-WOW! Good to hear Eddie loves his cosy life with her. Re previous owner.. I wish people wouldn't worry so much about their stupid furniture & declaw cats, it's evil imo, all they have to do is supply a few decent scratching posts. Our 3 don't touch our sofa, OR my huge new (expensive) wool rug as I have a lovely big & quite funky coloured scratch post right by it! ;) I mean, it would be considered very wrong to declawed a tiger, there'd be outrage! Loving all todays kitties :)
