Sproeteke

This is Sproeteke, which means something like ‘little freckle’. She’s an 8-year-old Dutch lady who chose me when I was at an animal shelter in June 2006 by immediately pushing her beautiful face to my hand. First we lived somewhere above a shop, but after a year I decided to give her a bigger house with a nice garden, which she loves very much.

I found out Sproeteke just can’t stop eating. In our first month together she gained almost 3 pounds, so I had to put her on diet. I still have to make sure there is no food left anywhere when I’m leaving, because she wants it all!

As I always tell her she’s the most beautiful cat in the world, she developed a bit of an attitude. When another cat shows up, she runs to it with a loud ‘sssshhhhh!’ and if that cat doesn’t go away, she starts a real catfight.

But to people she’s just adorable. She’s my best friend forever and if it was possible to marry a cat, I’d surely marry her right now. :)
