My, how you teaching them to use that device? Maine Coon is very smart breed, but to use that - it's very unusual :-)

I purchased this fountain after one of my cats became ill and was dehydrated. The other cat loved it, but the guy I got it for was afraid of it! Even though it is not loud, he seemed to be upset by the sound of the motor. It took only once for the water level to go down and the moter to race, and he never went near it again! We used it for about nine months, but he could not get over his distaste for it. We have since resumed leaving the spicket in the tub dripping, and my guy will let me know when I need to adjust the stream.

We used the grass pods a few times as one cat likes them, but they made the water slimey.

This was the second fountain I purchased as the previous one overflowed.

I would absolutely recommend this, but it might not suit all felines.

Cats...so persnickety, but so fabulous!

I keep thinking about getting one. One of my cats, Princess, is very insistant about drinking out of the faucet. To the point she will wake me up so I can turn the water on. She's a tiny cat with a loud meow and a serious attitude. Of course, a couple of the other cats follow her lead.

I'm glad you liked it : D

For anyone interested, our sister site, http://www.catwaterfountain.org, has some good info on cat water fountains as a whole - why they are good for cats, how they work, the most popular, etc.

Has anyone tried any of the other fountains out there?
